Third grade students received Chromebooks on Thursday, April 7, 2016! Students joined their parents, Mrs.Mills, Mrs. Gatton, and Mrs.Wade in the library to show off what has already been done and what is to come.
On Thursday, parents were invited to join their students to walk through the log-on procedure for using the Chromebooks. Students made sure their parents copied down directions so if they lost their passwords parents would be able to assist at home. Parents and students alike, learned about Google Docs and the other applications of Google Education. Students were then given the opportunity to show off some of the skills the kids had acquired already with Ms. Ruegger.
Students outlined the policies of use for the Chromebooks as not being a tool to play inappropriate games, watch inappropriate videos or visit inappropriate websites. The goal for these instructional tools is to extend the learning that is already taking place in the classroom.
Students will be able to access classwork anywhere and anytime now using the features of Google Education.Collaboration is one of most important 21st Century skills that we can teach our young students. The Chromebooks now allow students to collaborate face to face or on the computer while working on projects!
